Hallie Gilbert Bio

Hallie Gilbert has spent over two decades dedicated to education and non-profit work, blending her passion for learning with a love for exploration. After earning her M.A. in Museum Studies at John F. Kennedy University, she launched her career as a project manager and exhibit developer for Redmond Jones and Associates in Berkeley, California, where she brought engaging stories to life through exhibit design.

With an interest in supporting diverse learners, Hallie later earned her M.Ed. in Special

Education from Northeastern University and spent ten years co-teaching high school inclusion classes before joining Boston Public Schools as an Inclusion Specialist. She has taught 2nd and 5th grade inclusion and is now a Reading Interventionist at Boston Green Academy, where sheloves helping students discover the power of reading.

Hallie's understanding of the climate crisis deepened through her personal experiences hiking scenic trails and witnessing the impacts of environmental degradation on natural landscapes. Traveling to various parts of the world exposed her to the tangible effects of climate change on different communities, solidifying her commitment to environmental justice. This realization propelled her to integrate sustainability and ecological awareness into her teaching practices.

In her personal life, Hallie actively addresses environmental justice by engaging in sustainable living habits such as recycling, composting, and supporting local agriculture. She volunteers with community organizations focused on environmental conservation and advocates for policies that promote sustainability and equity. Through photography, she captures the beauty of the natural world and the challenges it faces, using her art to inspire others to take action.

Outside of work, Hallie continues to enjoy hiking, traveling, and immersing herself in new

cultures and perspectives, all while deepening her commitment to protecting the planet. She believes that education and personal action are key to fostering a more sustainable and just world for future generations.
